MAC Fabulous Felines Haul! Part 3

Hi All!  I am finally done with my Fab Felines haul.  I swear I will not buy this much stuff all together again.  Okay I am totally lying but I'm going to really try not too!  This last part of my haul will feature the pigments and liners I purchased from MAC.  I got 3 pigments and 2 liners.  The pigments aren't a new product so I'll just show some swatches and pictures.  I'll give a little more detail on the liners since they are a new product!

MAC Fabulous Felines Haul! Part 2

Aug 26, 2010

Hey I'm back with part 2 of my Fab Felines haul.  I hauled 2 of the 3 Eye Quads.  I got the Burmese Beauty and Leopard Luxe quads because I love eye shadow and I've seen the Leopard Luxe in my Allure this month so I thought why not.  I wish I would have gotten the other palette also because the two I got are on the neutral side but I still like them so I can't complain too much.

MAC Fabulous Felines Haul! Part 1

Aug 25, 2010

Hey there!  I did a little haulage with this collection.  I probably went a little overboard and I should have listened to the recommendations of people that told me to skip this collection or at least cut down on my items a bit.  But since I'm a little new to the whole MAC world, I just can't help myself.  I decided to post my haul in sections.  Today's section is lips.  I purchased 5 lip products total, 4 lipsticks and 1 lipglass.  As you may already know, this collection was broken off into 3 sub-sections which are Burmese Beauty, Leopard Luxe and Palace Pedigreed.  I got Pet Me, Please l/s and Kittenish l/g from Burmese Beauty, Drive Me Wild l/s from Leopard Luxe and Aristo-cat l/s from Palace Pedigreed.

From L to R:  Aristo-cat, Pet Me, Please, Drive Me Wild, Kittenish

Lap of Luxury

Aristo-cat
Pet Me, Please (aka Jizz lips...not cute!)
Drive Me Wild
Kittenish
Lap of Luxury
My lips with nothing on them....plain old me
My favorites are Drive Me Wild and Kittenish but I like them all except for Pet Me, Please, that one is a no no no.  I'm going to try it with some other color to see if I can make it work because I am not paying to ship this sucker back...but me no likey.

Thanks for checking out my haul.  Did you haul anything?  Do tell!

NARS Taj Mahal

Aug 22, 2010

Hey guys!   I took my baby swimming today and now I'm exhausted but I said on twitter that I would post swatches of Taj Mahal as soon as possible so here it is!  I purchased the blush from NARS directly because I had three promo codes.  I had codes to receive a mini Orgasm Nail Polish, a mini Lip Gloss duo and a free shipping code.  I was like super score on this one.

Taj Mahal is beastie!  This blush is the glow in a box.  Since I've only tried this color on myself I can't say what it would look like on other skin tones but it gives me that dumb glow from within look that everyone is always talking about but I've never experienced until now.  Yeah I know that I'm putting a lot on this blush but it is that great in my opinion.  This blush is now in heavy rotation.   I will do a look with this one soon so that you can see if you like it as much as I do.

Taj Mahal, Striptease/Dolce Vita l/g. Orgasm Nail Polish

Taj Mahal, Striptease, Dolce Vita w/ flash
Taj Mahal in all her glory!

Hope you like this little haul.  Sorry it's a little rushed because of my extreme exhaustion.  I will definitely try out some looks this week so hopefully that will make up for this!

Love you all!

Sephora Haul

Aug 20, 2010

Hi!  I just wanted to share a quick haul that I did in order to get my Sephora VIB samples.  I picked up the Too Faced Fun in teh Dark Palette which I have been wanting for a while but hadn't gotten it.  It recently went on sale so I thought why not get it now?!  The palette comes with four eyeshadow shades, two lip colors, a blush and a bronzer.  I also picked up Nars Daphne Eye Shadow which is a gorgeous purple.  Lastly, I picked up Make Up Forever Rouge Artist Intense in Moulin Rouge.  I also got my 500 point perk from Urban Decay, my 100 perk from Versace and 3 other samples.  This was a score shipment for me because I love free stuff and this was packed!

Sephora VIB Perk

Aug 17, 2010

Hey Loves,

Sephora recently sent me an email that offered a VIB perk grab bag sort of thing.  I forget all the details because after I placed my order, I deleted the email!  However, the basics of the offer were that for a certain amount of time Sephora VIB's received double points on orders as well as a grab bag filled with goodies when you placed an order.  So, I ended up placing a relatively small order (small for me anyway) and I received the following items in my goodie bag.

Sephora Atomic Volume Mascara Deluxe Sample
Urban Decay Stardust Eye Shadow Deluxe Sample
Dr Brandt Collagen Booster Deluxe Sample
Smashbox Photo Finish Lid Primer Deluxe Sample
Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer SPF 30 Deluxe Sample
Phyto Phytodefrisant baume Deluxe Sample
Clarins Multi Active Skin Renewal Serum Deluxe Sample

I also received a coupon for free shipping in the month of August and 2 Sephora pins.  I thought this was a really great goody bag with a lot of different products.  I wish they had included at least one lip product but hey it was free so I can't complain!

I will show you guys the items that I actually purchased in a different post.

So are any of you VIB's?  Did you get the same thing and do you like it?  Do tell!

Sugarpill Haul!

Aug 13, 2010

Hey There,

If you follow me on twitter, you may know that I was a bit disappointed in the pigmentation of the MAC Dare to Wear collection.  I really wanted the color to be outrageous and super pretty but they were just okay.  So after that disappointment, I decided to try out Sugarpill Cosmetics.  Sugarpill is a new company that is based out of my hometown of Oakland, CA.  The products are what I like to call "party party" and it is a really fun brand!

Sugarpill currently has the following items available:
  • 9 Pressed Eye Shadows - $12 each (Net Wt. 4 grams)
  • 11 Loose Eye Shadows - $12 each (Net Wt. 5 grams)
  • 3 Pressed Eye Shadow Quad Palettes - $34 each
  • 2 Eyelash types - $8 each
  • Eyelash adhesive - $4
  • Logo Sticker - $1
I purchased 2 of the palettes which means I got 8 of the 9 pressed shadows available.  I purchased Sweet Heart and Burning Heart.  I also purchased the Cateye Eyelashes which are just fun!
So first thing I noticed of course was the gorgeous packaging.  The boxes are so cute that I think I will keep them which I usually don't do.  The actual quad, that houses the shadows is made of a durable cardboard that is super sturdy and has a magnet closure.  Inside the quad there is also a large mirror.

The Sweet Heart Palette (pictured on the left) comes with
Dollipop - matte hot pink
Afterparty - bright turquoise with a semi-pearly sheen
Midori - vibrant green with a slightly pearl sheen
Tako - pure matte white

The Burning Heart Palette (pictured on the right) comes with the following:
Flamepoint - vibrant matte orange
Buttercup - bright matte yellow
Love + - bright red with a semi-pearly sheen
Poison Plum - dramatic purple with a semi-pearly sheen

Burning Heart w/o flash

The pigmentation on these shadows are AMAZING!  They blend super easily and they have minimal to no fall out.  How awesome is that!  Very!

FINAL VERDICT:  Loves everything about it!  Going to order more from this awesome company soon!  This is a must have for anyone that likes bright colors.

So, have you tried the Sugarpill yet?  Do tell!

Rock and Rebublic Blush Haul

Hey!

Sorry that I have been slacking a little on the posts. I have to definitely do better on updating this little blog world more often.  This move to Texas has me off kilter in the worst way.  I don't have my makeup station organized and set-up the way I like it yet so that puts me in a bad makeup mood.  Luckily the mood doesn't stop me from buying more!  So recently there was like a twitfire on twitter and everyone was going back and forth about the Rock & Republic blushes.  Now I already ordered some from Beauty Story but those take forever to ship so I had not gotten them yet (still haven't) so I decided I needed to add some more blush members to the family and I ordered 2 colors from Rock & Republic directly.  FYI, they currently have a sale that includes 50% off with code "ROCKCOSMETICS" which expires 8.31.2010.

Rock & Republic Contrived Pressed Blushes retail for $40 and are currently available in 10 shades.  The net weight on these blushes equal .32oz/9g and the packaging is gorg!  Huge but Gorg!  They come in these round boxes that remind me of this bracelet box I once had.  The boxes are big and sturdy and house the blushes snugly in the center.  The actual blush compact is gorgeous and I have to give R&R a big bravo for the packaging because it looks high end and rocks out at the same time!  The mirror inside the compact is huge and great for touch ups if needed. The blushes are pressed extremely well and have no fall-out that I can see so far.  They are really smooth to the touch and highly pigmented as well so I would suggest using a light hand with these. The two colors I ordered are Lust and X-Rated.  Lust is a shimmer and is a mid-tone peach with small gold flecks.  X-Rated is a matte hot pink/fuchsia.

From L to R:  Lust, X-Rated

Taken w/ flash
I think these colors will become staples in my collection!  I definitely want more and I suggest that you run out and get some while they are on sale.  I would pay $40 for these because there is a lot of product and it should last a super long time.  I think I may buy a few more this week since they are on sale.

FINAL THOUGHTS:  Loves and that is all!

LOTD: The World is a Vampire!

Aug 9, 2010

Hi again!  I finally sat down to do a vampire inspired look today...yeah I know I'm late!  This is what I would probably look like if I were to ever become a vampire!  I am like seriously obsessed with certain vampire movies, books and especially the t.v. shows.  I get really into it sometimes.  My latest obsession is called Being Human and it comes on BBC America.  There is a vampire that is hot, a werewolf and a ghost!  Perfect combination right!  Right!  Oh and let's not forget about True Blood and the uber hot Edward from Twilight.  So how can you not be into vampires after that list?  So on to today's look.

      MAC Dare to Wear Haul!

      Aug 5, 2010

      Hi There!

Today was freakin hot as you know what out here.  Thank God I own like a million black tank tops because I plan on wearing them all summer long.  It's too hot for real clothes.  I seriously almost melted when I went outside but I had to do it because my Macy's Shipment of MAC's Dare to Wear collection arrived today!  I hate waiting on packages but I refuse to pay for expedited shipments especially from Macy's.  Now that I don't have a MAC counter anywhere near me, it looks like I'll be playing the waiting game for a while.  On to the good stuff...I hauled 5 of the eye shadows and 4 lip glosses from the Dare to Wear collection.  I also accidentally ordered 2 of Louder Please...wth?!  I purchased Going Bananas e/s, Sassy Grass e/s, Zingy e/s, Shock-A-Holic e/s and Louder Please e/s.  From the lip glosses that were available, I purchased  Wind Me Up, Gimme That!, Ban This! and Bold & Brash.  My first impression of the eye shadows were womp womp.  Like seriously, they are not that great.  I thought they would have a lot more pigment to them and be smoother in texture.  Keep in mind I have only swatched them with my finger and haven't tried them on the eyes yet but I am not that excited to try them out now.  The lip glosses really stole the show for me because the pigment is ridiculous and they are so freakin gorg!  I can't wait to wear these colors!!!  So here are the swatches.

From Left to Right (Going Bananas, Sassy Grass, Zingy, Shock-A-Holic, Louder Please)

From Left to Right (Wind me Up, Gimme That!, Ban This!, Bold & Brash)

Seriously, how gorg are those glosses.  I die! (in my Rachel Zoe voice)....

So did you indulge?  If you did, how did you like 'em?
