Look of the Day - 12.27.2011 UD Naked2 Palette

Dec 27, 2011

Hey There!

So if you haven't heard, I kinda had a baby!  Since I have been running on fumes because of the lack of sleep around here, I really haven't been doing much to my face.  I did find the time to order and then obsess over Urban Decay's Naked2 Palette.  I absolutely love this palette and it really has saved my makeup life.  I can literally do my eye makeup in like 5-10 minutes which is about all the time I have.

Today I used Chopper, Tease, Snakebite and Blackout from the palette and this will definitely be my go to look from now on.  I love it!

Makeup Organization and Storage - Part 2

Dec 18, 2011

Finally, here is part 2 of my makeup set up.  The crazy thing is that I have already moved a few things around from part 1 but it's always changing.

Behind my desk I have these two Sterilite Drawers that contain some makeup and hair products.  Since this post is about makeup, I will only focus on the 6 drawer Sterilite tower that holds my makeup.

Drawer 1 includes some large makeup palettes.
Drawer 2 includes some smaller makeup palettes.
Drawer 3 has samples and other miscellaneous items.

Drawers 4, 5 and 6 all contain Bare Escentuals Eye Shadows.  They are stacked about 3 containers high in every drawer.  I have a lot of these.

Next up, I have a floor shelf that is actually half of a display case that I purchased at an auction when I worked at BE Corporate.  It is really heavy and I'm not sure if I'm going to keep it in the long run.  I have a full length mirror and some BE kits sitting on top of it.

In these two drawers I keep most of my BE face products such as foundation, mineral veil, radiances and blushes.

And that is pretty much everything!  Let me know if you have any questions about specific products or my set up.

Makeup Organization and Storage - Part 1

Dec 12, 2011

Organizing the Stash!  Lately I have been on an all out organizing spree in my house.  One area that always stresses me out is my makeup area because I feel like I can never see everything in order to use it.  Well that should change now.  The picture above is of my desk that my husband purchased for me from Ikea.  I love this desk.

This is the top part of the desk.  It includes some of my jewelry, sunglasses.  I also have perfume, nail polish, foundation, and miscellaneous makeup items that I reach for often.

I have two Sterilite Drawer Towers stacked on top of each other on my desk.

Tower 1

Drawer 1: Contains my every day products like concealer, lip conditioners, liner and brow products in the top first drawer.

Drawer 2: Contains some cream eye shadows and bases.
Drawer 3: The third drawer contains eyelashes.

Tower 2
Drawer 1: Primers, Shadow Sticks
Drawer 2: Eyeliners
Drawer 3: Mascara

In the front drawer of my desk I keep my MAC Palettes, Bronzers,  Face Powders, Blushes and Highlighters.

The side drawer of my desk contains some small eye shadow palettes, pigments and large eye shadows that don't fit in my palettes.

In the cabinet under the side drawer is where I keep my glosses and backups.

So that's all the stuff in/on my desk. Let me know if you have any questions.

Next up is the rest of my set-up.  Stay Tuned!!

Sunday Favorites - Volume 4

Dec 4, 2011

My skin has been ridiculously dry lately especially around my eyes.  I have no idea why I stopped using this product because it definitely should be a staple in my life.  It absorbs into the skin quickly and doesn't make me look or feel greasy.  Love this!

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion w/ Pump
$24.50 USD

The next thing that I have been loving is the Naked Palette.  I think I'm more in love with having a go to palette than any of the individual colors.  I reach for this every time I have to be ready in a hurry.

Urban Decay Naked Palette
$48 USD
The last item on my list is actually a discontinued limited edition item from MAC.  This is one of those rare products that I am actually starting to hit pan on.  Good thing I bought two backups!

MAC Style Influencer Mineralized Eye Shadow
Limited Edition

Well those were my favorites for this week!  Hope you enjoyed.  Let me know what some of your favorites were for this week, month or year!

Lip of the Day - MAC Jubilee Lipstick

Dec 1, 2011

Hey girl hey and hey boy hey!  I finally got a little mojo back after feeling a hot trifling mess lately.  I haven't been in the mood to do anything except the mandatory cleaning of my house and taking care of my family.  However, my love for makeup always creeps up and I get obsessed with something.  Right now my obsession is finding the perfect neutral/nude lipstick.  This seems to be an on and off obsession for me because as soon as I find one, I try to find a better one.  I guess that's why I'm a makeup addict!
