LOTD: The World is a Vampire!

Aug 9, 2010

Hi again!  I finally sat down to do a vampire inspired look today...yeah I know I'm late!  This is what I would probably look like if I were to ever become a vampire!  I am like seriously obsessed with certain vampire movies, books and especially the t.v. shows.  I get really into it sometimes.  My latest obsession is called Being Human and it comes on BBC America.  There is a vampire that is hot, a werewolf and a ghost!  Perfect combination right!  Right!  Oh and let's not forget about True Blood and the uber hot Edward from Twilight.  So how can you not be into vampires after that list?  So on to today's look.

Products Used:
Face:
  • Bare Escentuals Prime Time Foundation Primer Oil Control

Look of the Day! MAC's Dare to Wear

      Aug 6, 2010

Hello to everyone out there!  I want to give an extra hi to all my new followers whether you follow me on twitter or on my bloggie, I truly appreciate you!  Today was another hot day and I was hoping my Sugarpill order would be here but it's not.  Insert sad face here!  So to cheer myself up, I decided to do a bright look using my MAC Dare to Wear Haul items from yesterday.  I think it turned out pretty cute.  Now in my everyday life I may not pair the bright lip gloss with super colorful eyes but right now I could care less.  I'm in the middle of nowhere stuck in the house so hell with it!

I used the following products to achieve this look:

      Face
      • Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Original
      • NARS Sheer Matte foundation in New Orleans mixed with a little bit of Trinidad
      • MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Medium Plus (under eyes to highlight)
      • MAC Studio Fix foundation in NW45  (used to set the liquid foundation)
      • MAC A Little Bit of Sunshine Mineralize Blush Duo (used the darker side only)
      • MAC Petticoat Mineralize Skinfinish (used on cheekbones and under blush
       Eyes
      • MUFE Eyebrow Corrector 4

      • MAC Going Bananas e/s (inner corner, tear duct, lower inner lash line)
      • MAC Louder Please e/s (center of the lid)
      • MAC Shock-A-Holic e/s ( outer corner and blending color)
      • MAC Sassy Grass (lower lash line - used in the middle and taken outward)
      • MAC Blacktrack Fluidline (upper lash line - winged out)
      • Bare Escentuals Big & Bright Eyeliner in Intense Black (used on waterline and winged out but not connected to the upper lash line liner)
      • Bare Escentuals Buxom Insider Liner in Emerald (used in between the two winged out liners to fill in the space)
      • Lancome Definicils HD Waterproof Mascara

      Lips
      • MAC Gimme That! Lip Glass
      • MAC Wind Me Up Lip Glass (center of the lips only)
Hope you like it!  Any combo's that you have tried with this collection?  Do tell!

      MAC Dare to Wear Haul!

      Aug 5, 2010

      Hi There!

Today was freakin hot as you know what out here.  Thank God I own like a million black tank tops because I plan on wearing them all summer long.  It's too hot for real clothes.  I seriously almost melted when I went outside but I had to do it because my Macy's Shipment of MAC's Dare to Wear collection arrived today!  I hate waiting on packages but I refuse to pay for expedited shipments especially from Macy's.  Now that I don't have a MAC counter anywhere near me, it looks like I'll be playing the waiting game for a while.  On to the good stuff...I hauled 5 of the eye shadows and 4 lip glosses from the Dare to Wear collection.  I also accidentally ordered 2 of Louder Please...wth?!  I purchased Going Bananas e/s, Sassy Grass e/s, Zingy e/s, Shock-A-Holic e/s and Louder Please e/s.  From the lip glosses that were available, I purchased  Wind Me Up, Gimme That!, Ban This! and Bold & Brash.  My first impression of the eye shadows were womp womp.  Like seriously, they are not that great.  I thought they would have a lot more pigment to them and be smoother in texture.  Keep in mind I have only swatched them with my finger and haven't tried them on the eyes yet but I am not that excited to try them out now.  The lip glosses really stole the show for me because the pigment is ridiculous and they are so freakin gorg!  I can't wait to wear these colors!!!  So here are the swatches.

From Left to Right (Going Bananas, Sassy Grass, Zingy, Shock-A-Holic, Louder Please)

From Left to Right (Wind me Up, Gimme That!, Ban This!, Bold & Brash)

Seriously, how gorg are those glosses.  I die! (in my Rachel Zoe voice)....

So did you indulge?  If you did, how did you like 'em?

These are a few of my favorite things! July Edition

      Aug 4, 2010

      Hi All,
It's August which means it's time for a post of my faves from last month!  I try to narrow my faves down to five categories and then I close with what I am wanting right now.  I also sometimes will add a random that is not makeup related.

      Face Product
MAC Petticoat Mineralize Skinfinish - So pretty on my skin tone and works with almost every look.  I have been wearing this on the top of my cheekbones and it is gorg!
      Eyes
MAC Style Influencer Mineralize Eye Shadow Trio  - Everytime I wear this look I get so many compliments that it's not even funny.  I even got a job offer at Nordie's MAC counter when I wore this there.

      Cheeks
MAC A Little Bit of Sunshine Mineralize Blush Duo - Never in a million years would I think that this would be a favorite but to my surprise I like this one more than any other blush right now.  It gives me a warm healthy "glow" and looks amazing.  I mainly use the darker side as I don't want to be a shimmer ball.  I bought a back up of this one because if I ever run out I think that I may cry!

      Lips
MAC Russian Red Lipstick - This was my big leap into red lipstick and I love it!  I have figured out that I love Matte lipstick.  Oh and this one lasted for super long and I wore it out when I went to the Olive Garden.  I did not need to touch this up at all after dinner.  Can we say AWESOME!

So MAC totally killed the list last month!  I guess I was really feeling the In the Groove Collection.  I think most of the items are still available at MAC if you want to haul any!

Wants Right Now (I'm only going to pick one thing!)
Sugar Pill Asylum Loose Eyeshadow - I purchased a couple of the quads from Sugarpill but I am really regretting not adding this to the shopping cart.  This is a gorgeous red shimmer that is to die for!  Oh well, maybe next time!

      Random
Tiffany Filigree Heart and Key Pendant - I love Tiffany's and that is all!

So, what are some of your favorites?  Do tell!

      Until next time, be happy!

      E.L.F. Drugstore Haul

      Aug 2, 2010

E.L.F. Eye Beauty Book - Smoky Eyes

Hey people!  I went to one of my favorite places on earth a couple days ago!  Target!  Now I usually shy away from mass brand makeup as it doesn't catch my eye most times because I don't like browsing through unorganized/messy displays.  This Target, however, was pretty organized and I saw these two kits on an end-cap so I snatched them up.  I picked up the E.L.F. Beauty Book Smoky Eye Edition and the E.L.F. Duo Smokey Eye Kit.

E.L.F. Smoky Eye Kit Now, the pigmentation is good but they are messy and a lot of shadow puffs up when you try to use them.  But for $5, seriously who cares?  Not me!  I think these shadows would be ideal for someone who is new to makeup and want to try different shades out without spending a lot of money.  These kits would also be great for beauties on a budget.  I technically got 20 eyeshadow, 1 brush, 1 applicator and an eyeliner for $10.  Seriously!

      See swatches after the jump!
