These are a few of my favorite things! July Edition

Hi All,

It's August which means it's time for a post of my faves from last month!  I try to narrow my faves down to five categories and then I close with what I am wanting right now.  I also sometimes will add a random that is not makeup related. 

Face Product
MAC Petticoat Mineralize Skinfinish - So pretty on my skin tone and works with almost every look.  I have been wearing this on the top of my cheekbones and it is gorg!

Eyes
MAC Style Influencer Mineralize Eye Shadow Trio  - Everytime I wear this look I get so many compliments that it's not even funny.  I even got a job offer at Nordie's MAC counter when I wore this there.

Cheeks
MAC A Little Bit of Sunshine Mineralize Blush Duo - Never in a million years would I think that this would be a favorite but to my surprise I like this one more than any other blush right now.  It gives me a warm healthy "glow" and looks amazing.  I mainly use the darker side as I don't want to be a shimmer ball.  I bought a back up of this one because if I ever run out I think that I may cry!

Lips  
MAC Russian Red Lipstick - This was my big leap into red lipstick and I love it!  I have figured out that I love Matte lipstick.  Oh and this one lasted for super long and I wore it out when I went to the Olive Garden.  I did not need to touch this up at all after dinner.  Can we say AWESOME!

So MAC totally killed the list last month!  I guess I was really feeling the In the Groove Collection.  I think most of the items are still available at MAC if you want to haul any!

Wants Right Now (I'm only going to pick one thing!)
Sugar Pill Asylum Loose Eyeshadow - I purchased a couple of the quads from Sugarpill but I am really regretting not adding this to the shopping cart.  This is a gorgeous red shimmer that is to die for!  Oh well, maybe next time!

Random
Tiffany Filigree Heart and Key Pendant - I love Tiffany's and that is all!

E.L.F. Drugstore Haul

Hey people!  I went to one of my favorite places on earth a couple days ago!  Target!  Now I usually shy away from mass brand makeup as it doesn't catch my eye most times because I don't like browsing through unorganized/messy displays.  This Target, however, was pretty organized and I saw these two kits on an end-cap so I snatched them up.  I picked up the E.L.F. Beauty Book Smoky Eye Edition and the E.L.F. Duo Smokey Eye Kit.

Now, the pigmentation is good but they are messy and a lot of shadow puffs up when you try to use them.  But for $5, seriously who cares?  Not me!  I think these shadows would be ideal for someone who is new to makeup and want to try different shades out without spending a lot of money.  These kits would also be great for beauties on a budget.  I technically got 20 eyeshadow, 1 brush, 1 applicator and an eyeliner for $10.  Seriously!

Sabs does Red Lips!

I'm in Texas you'll and a new location calls for a new look right?! Right!  I wanted to do a vampire inspired look but with most of my makeup packed away, it was not happening.  However, today I unpacked a bit so I was able to vamp it up a little.  Complete vampire inspired look will come next week promise!

As most of you know I do a pink lip like 99.99% of the time so today I'm venturing out with the red lips. I have purchased quite a few red lipsticks in the past couple of weeks so you may see more red lip features from me in the near future.

E.L.F. Beauty Book Smokey Eye Edition - I used the color on the bottom right all over the lid and blended upwards.  I used the color right above that one for blending out the other color and I also used it underneath the brows.
MAC Blacktrack Fluidline with the black shadow from the E.L.F. Beauty Book on top to set it.

I am not totally loving the rosy cheeks with the red lip but I don't mind it either.  I think maybe next time I will use a more muted color on the cheeks.  I am loving the red lip though.

Look of the Day! Partylicious is ridiculous!

I'm back for my look of the day post!  I did this look on the day I went to the salon and then repeated it the next day because I liked it so much.  I love blue eye colors because they are just fun.

I am also trying out the NARS Sheer Matte foundation by itself without mixing it with the MUFE HD Foundation but I am not liking the results so far.  I will keep you guys posted though if I change my mind!

Hair of the Day! Beanie be gone!

Hellooooo! Hope you guys are doing well.  I'm still getting prepared for the big move to Texas.  The movers came a couple of days ago and hauled most of our crap out of here.  My husband said he could only fit 1 extra suitcase in the trunk so I had to stuff as much makeup as possible into one freakin suitcase meaning I had to ship the rest.  Sucks but hey what can I do!  Oh and I am still trying to figure out how to get my MAC Dare to Wear haul before I hit the road.  I might call my new apartment manager tomorrow to get our new address and ship it there!

Now on to the topic, my hair!  I thought I would do a hair post as you lovelies are probably sick of seeing me in that doggone cap thingy that I wear in all my pictures!
So, I went to the salon yesterday and my stylist took some photos of my hair which is awesome because I cannot maintain my hairstyle for more than a day.

Background Hair Info:
In March of this year, I made the leap and cut my hair really short.  I was done with the extensions and wanted a change.  I also decided not to have a relaxer put on my hair either as I am trying to stay away from the harsh chemicals!  Now I am trying to grow my hair out and so far, so good.

I use Ojon's Ultra Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner at home once a week and get my hair washed and conditioned at the salon once a week.  I also use the Ojon Restorative Hair Treatment once every two weeks and I try not to put heat on my hair except for when I go to the salon.

 

By the way in the pictures I am wearing my Partylicious look which I will post in tomorrow's Look of the Day.  I hope you like this post as it doesn't involve much makeup talk!
