Brow Pictorial for Sparse Eyebrows

Jul 15, 2013

In a previous post I featured a before and after picture of my brows.  Since then, I have had a few requests for a pictorial and so I created one.  I hope this pictorial helps those with sparse brows achieve the look of fuller brows.

THE BROWS!

Step 1: I start by brushing my brows upward using my Real Techniques Lash and Brow Groomer.  I do this to get an idea of the general shape that I want to achieve.

Step 2: I brush my brow hairs downward to see which brow hairs are too long and may need a trim.

Step 3:  I trim the hairs using brow scissors.

Step 4:  After brushing the hairs up again, I razor any brow hairs that are growing beneath my desired brow.

Step 5:  I draw in the bottom portion of my brow with an angled brow brush (using my Make Up For Ever Eye Brow Corrector in #4) and extend the tail of the brow outward.  I start with very little product as a little goes a long way.

Step 6:  Without adding any additional product, I start filling the brow in using upward strokes.  I like doing this because it not only fills in the brow but it also tames the brow hair and tends to make them stay in place.  Also, you want to fill in the brow starting at the center or end of the brow.  Use the least amount of product and pressure at the inner part of the brow so that they don't look as drawn on.

This is what the brow looks like after its been completely filled in.  This is a more natural brow than I usually do.  To achieve a darker look, simply add a little bit more product and deepen the color.

Step 7:  I clean up the brow using MAC's Studio Finish Concealer in NW40 which is a few of shades lighter than my skin color.  I do not use concealer above my brows anymore, however if you would like to define the top of your brow, use a concealer or foundation that is the same shade as your skin tone.

This is what the brow looks like after concealer application.

Step 8:  I then blend out the concealer using my finger or any fluffy blending brush.

Let me know if you have any questions.
