Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics - Pro's Picks Lip Tar Set

Jan 3, 2013

I've heard amazing things about OCC Cosmetics but I've never actually tried their products until now.  Well let me just say that they are amazing!  I absolutely am in love with the colors and the pigmentation of the product.  These are some of the best lip products that I have tried.  They are so pigmented yet they literally feel like you have nothing on your lips.  Love Love Love.  Lip Tars sell for $19 each so I thought this set was a great value and it truly is.

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Pro's Picks Lip Tar Set
Shades Included:  Grandma, Melange, Pretty Boy, Stalker, Vintage (this set also includes a lip brush)

Price: $
49 USD
Available at Sephora

Grandma

Melange

Pretty Boy

Stalker

Vintage

Now these bad boys were so hard to swatch because they are so pigmented and it takes some work to get them off (they do leave a lovely stain behind which I like).  For the red colors, I would definitely recommend using the lip brush and going around the perimeter of your lips with a concealer (which I obviously didn't do!)

These are really great lip products and I definitely recommend that you pick up this set if you want to try out a few colors for a reasonable price!

Eye of the Day - 3 Winged Circus (Purple Smoky Eye)

I'm really invested in trying new makeup ideas on myself and I've become really obsessed with some lovely makeup artists on instagram and they have truly inspired me.  I decided that I wanted to use my Make Up For Ever Eyeshadow in #92 and do a purple smoky eye because I love a good smoky eye.  I also wanted to try the two wing liner look but I've done that before so I went with 3 wings instead.

Products Used:
Brows
Make Up For Ever Eyebrow Corrector - #4
MAC Studio Finish Concealer - NW40
Eyes
Too Faced Shadow Insurance
MAC Eyeshadow - Texture
Nars Blush - Exhibit A
Make Up For Ever Eyeshadow - #92
Clinique Gel Eyeliner - True Black
YSL Waterproof Eyeliner - Black
Red Cherry Lashes - #01

I didn't really think I was going to post this look since it was just a spur of the moment thing but I wanted to share it with you all so here it is!

P.S. The first photo was taken with my Canon while the other photos were taken with my iphone which is why you can see that I'm totally trying to grow out my brows and they look a little hairier than usual!

Thanks for stopping by!  Let me know if you guys have any questions about this look and follow me on Instagram @glamsabs if you aren't already!

Instagram: January Photo a Day

Jan 1, 2013

I've decided to do the January Photo a Day Challenge on Instagram.  The challenge was created by beautythesis and I like the idea so I'm starting off the New Year with a new challenge.

Day 1 - Beauty Resolutions

Take Better Care of My Skin
I definitely want to take better care of my skin.  It is really dry and I don't really address my problem issues and try to correct them so this year I'm going to stick to a skincare regimen.

Drink More Water
This goes hand in hand with my dry skin issue.  Hydrating the inside will hopefully reflect on the outside.

Use More of My Collection
I started doing this in 2012 but I really want to continue using products that I already own instead of rushing out to buy more products!

Consolidate My Professional Kit
Since I decided to take my free-lancing business seriously, I've been upgrading items and adding to my kit.  The problem is I haven't purged anything so it just keeps on growing.  I need consolidation badly!

Improve My Blog/Website and Start My Portfolio
This is a daunting task as I have two children and my son is in so many activities and goes to school so sometimes between that, and taking care of my household and husband, I feel like I let my blog and my passion for makeup take a back seat.  So now I've decided that after the kids go to sleep, I will focus on improving my blog instead of watching reality tv!  I will also like to try to start my free-lance portfolio as soon as possible because I don't have examples of my work in order to book more clients.  The majority of my clients come from word of mouth or people just walking up to me after I've beat my face!

Try Different Looks and Techniques
I just want to grow and improve and while I think I'm pretty good, I always see room to grow.  I want to focus on trying new ideas and getting better at all I do!

Hope you guys enjoyed this post!  Let me know if you have any Beauty Resolutions!

Ben Nye Luxury Powders - Cameo, Buff, Banana, Beige Suede, Nutmeg, Dark Cocoa

I've been upgrading my freelance kit for the past few months now.  I recently tried the Ben Nye Beige Suede and Banana Powders on myself and I loved them so I decided to order some for my kit.  I ordered 3 light shades and 3 darker shades. There are additional shades available but I settled on these 6 and I think I'll be able to cover any client with these shades.

Ben Nye Luxury Powder
Shades Purchased: Cameo, Buff, Banana, Beige Suede, Nutmeg, Dark Cocoa
Price: $7.99-$8.50
USD for 1.5oz
Available at CameraReadyCosmetics

Now I mostly use these powders to set concealer underneath the eyes and on super oily clients to set their t-zone and/or face depending on how oily the person is.  I absolutely love these powders and they will continue to be a staple makeup product both in my personal and professional collections.

Let me know if you have any questions about these powders and I will be more than happy to answer them for you.

Thanks for stopping by!  Happy New Year!
