bareMinerals Eyeshadow Duo - The Epiphany

Apr 9, 2013

bareMinerals Eyeshadow Duo
Shade Purchased:  The Epiphany (A-Ha, Foreshadow)

Price: $20 USD

Purchased From:  Ulta.com

If you haven't tried the bareMinerals Ready shadows, you are definitely missing out.  The texture is awesome, the color payoff is great and they blend really well together.  I haven't purchased any really unique colors from them yet, so I can't testify to that aspect, however, every quad and duo that I have purchased has been great!  My favorite shadow palette that I have tried from them, so far, is The Elements!  Let me know if you have tried any of their palettes and what you think about them.

Thanks for stopping by!

bareMinerals Eyeshadow Duo - The Escape

Mar 16, 2013

I purchased two of the Ready Eyeshadow Duos from bareMinerals.  The one that I'm featuring today has two great neutral matte eyeshadows that I'm really impressed with.

bareMinerals Eyeshadow Duo
Shade Purchased:  The Escape (Daydream, Wanderlust)

Price: $20 USD

Purchased From:  Ulta.com

The packaging is very similar to the Nars packaging.  It looks good at first but they get dirty so easily.  Good thing I wipe all of my packaging down regularly because that would drive me crazy.

Great additions to the collection!

bareMinerals Eyeshadow Quad - The Next Big Thing

Mar 15, 2013

Ulta recently had a sale and of course I had to participate.  All of the bareMinerals Ready Eyeshadow Quads and Duos were discounted so I grabbed the shades that caught my eye. The quad that I chose is a limited edition but it may still be available at some locations.

bareMinerals Eyeshadow Quad
Shade Purchased:  The Next Big Thing (Rising Star, Smash Hit, Hoopla, Ensemble)
Price: $30 USD
Purchased From:  Ulta.com

I really like all of the colors in the quad but my two favorites are Smash Hit and Hoopla.  If you haven't tried the BE Ready Eyeshadows, I highly recommend them.  The colors are pretty, the pigmentation is awesome and they apply really smoothly.

Thanks for stopping by!  Let me know if you have any questions.

bareMinerals Ready Eyeshadow 4.0 featuring The Dream Sequence

Feb 28, 2012

Okay so I'm sick of talking about these eye shadows!  Like seriously I want to talk about some of my other goodies that arrived yesterday but I promised to post about all four of these quads so here we go.  Great pigmentation, wears for a long time, no problems with creasing.  I love purple eye shadow so this quad was right up my alley but I just wasn't feeling the look I did today.  I usually like to do a purple smokey eye but I wanted to showcase all of the colors so I did something a little different.

Loves:  The staying power is great on these shadows.  They swatch easily.  Great pigmentation!
Hates:  Nothing!

Boring eye look isn't it!  Boooo.  But hey I tried.  So that is the last of the quads!  I've posted all the links below if you missed any of them.

bareMinerals Ready Eyeshadow 4.0 - The Truth
bareMinerals Ready Eyeshadow 4.0 - The Elements
bareMinerals Ready Eyeshadow 4.0 - The Afterparty

Out of all four, my favorite quad has been The Elements!  I think all of the quads are great quality but that one just stood out for me.

bareMinerals Ready Eyeshadow 4.0 featuring The Truth

Feb 24, 2012

This is the third bareMinerals Ready Palette that I have tried.  I think this is a good palette but definitely not one that I would do cartwheels over.  I wish that one of the colors had been more matte as it seems they all have a bit of sheen/shimmer to them.  The sheen isn't bad, it is just my personal preference to have a matte shade for depth in the crease or outer v area when I am doing an eye look.  These colors are multidimensional and look very different on my eyes than they look in the pan and even in swatches.  I like this palette very much.

Hates:  No truly matte shade

bareMinerals Ready Eyeshadow 4.0 featuring The Elements

Time for the second bareMinerals palette!  This one is a little more my speed.  My favorite shade is the one in the top right corner.  It is a great lid and transition color.  I can also see myself wearing it alone with winged liner for a no fuss look.

I used to think the little brushes that came with these palette were useless but today I cleaned up my shadow and mascara mistakes with it and it worked.

I also forgot to include a picture of the large mirror.  The mirror is definitely a plus as it makes touch ups on the go easy.

BARE ESCENTUALS READY EYESHADOW 4.0
Shade:  The Elements featuring Air, Fire, Earth, Water
Available at Sephora
$30.00 USD
Loves:  The staying power is great on these shadows.  They swatch easily.  Great pigmentation!
Hates:  Nothing*

*These all swatched really easily except for Earth but when I used a brush, I had no problems.  Air was my least favorite shade initially because it didn't feel like it had chunky glitter but it definitely look like it did when I applied it to my eyes.  However, after wearing it for a little bit and taking some pictures, I began to appreciate the look of Air and the glitter eye didn't bother me anymore.

I didn't think that I would like these color as much as I did but they worked well together and I can definitely see myself using this palette a lot.

The next quad I will try is called the Truth.  Until then, stay pretty!

bareMinerals Ready Eyeshadow 4.0 featuring The Afterparty

Feb 16, 2012

Bare Escentuals is known for their loose mineral based products.  Recently they have launched some new products in pressed form to the excitement of people like me who love their products yet hate the mess.  I received all four eyeshadow palettes as gifts during the holidays and I am finally getting a chance to check them out.  So far they are doing great and I'm excited to have them.  They do have Nars like packaging so I can see that these can get dirty but I keep my packaging pretty clean so I shouldn't have a problem there.

BARE ESCENTUALS READY EYESHADOW 4.0

Shade:  The Afterparty featuring Cheers, Mingle, Rowdy, Lights Down
Available at Sephora
$30.00 USD
Loves:  The staying power is great on these shadows.  They swatch easily.  Great pigmentation!
Hates:  These colors aren't my personal favorites as the silvery shades can tend to look a little blue on me but that only bothers me a tiny bit.
I did this eye look in about five minutes and it was really easy.  The shades blended seamlessly and I can only imagine how much better this would look if I actually put some effort into it!

Have you tried these eyeshadows yet?  If so, which are your favorite colors?

bareMinerals Pretty Amazing Lipcolor - Savvy

Jan 11, 2012

Well well well, this lip color is pretty freaking amazing.

bareMinerals Pretty Amazing Lip Color
Shade:  Savvy (brown pink)
Available at SEPHORA
$16 USD
Loves:  The color, application, formula and reasonable price
Hates:  NOTHING!  This is a favorite.

Direct Sunlight
This color is described as a brown pink and in direct sunlight you can definitely see the pink coming through.  In indirect sunlight the color looks like a true nude for my skintone.
Indirect Sunlight
This formula is very easy/comfortable to wear but it can be a bit heavy if you apply too much.  However, since the color is opaque, you don't need very much product.  This product is going directly into my purse and that is were it will live!

Product Spotlight - Buxom Lipstick Shanghai

Sep 15, 2011

This is more of a feature focus post than an actual product spotlight as I just focused on a lip and really left the rest of my face pretty plain.  I think this color is great for fall but I would rock it whenever the mood hits me!

Buxom Lip Stick
Purchased Shade:  Shanghai (deep raspberry)
Available at MAC  $18 USD
Loves:  The color
Hates:  Transfers like crazy!

BE Face Fashion Urban Vibe Review

Jun 28, 2010

Hi there!
Bare Escentuals Face Fashion: Urban Vibe ($43 Value) Face Fashion: Urban Vibe

Sorry for the weekend hiatus but I've been hangin out.  So on Saturday, I thought I was going to go see Eclipse and I drove out to meet my friends only to realize that I had the wrong weekend.  Brain freeze seriously.  So I went out with one of my friends and we went to go see the new Tom Cruise movie.  Okay so blah blah blah on to the makeup!  My friend that I met on Saturday gave me the new Bare Escentuals Face Fashion kit.  I love gifts let me tell you.  Like I seriously love getting things for free.

Okay so I love the colors in this kit but I don't exactly see how the eyeliner fits in but I plan on doing a Look of the Day with this tomorrow so we shall see.  Also, all of the colors in this kit are not available individually so if you fall in love with something, it may not be available again if you run out.  But let's be serious, it takes forever to run out of bareMinerals mineral products.  You will probably run out of the eyeliner and the lip gloss as these seem to be the stand outs in the kit!

The kit comes with two eye shadows, one mini eyeliner, one blush and a mini lip gloss. The case it comes in is really sturdy and has all the components inside along with instructions on application techniques.  The kit does not include brushes which may be a turn-off to some but I don't really care about that as I have dozens of brushes.
The eye shadows are .01 oz compared to the regular size of .02 oz and come in the following colors:
(From left to right:  Light Show, Smoky Violet)
Light Show - a peach frost that appears really light on my skin tone and is more silvery.
Smoky Violet - a violet sheen that has a tiny bit of gold/multi colored fleck in it.  This color is also a little light on my skin but you can build the color.
The mini eyeliner in Teal is .006 oz compared to the regular size of .012 oz. I love this color and it is seriously on trend.
The Haute Pink blush comes in .02 oz compared to a regular size of .03 oz and is described as a magenta pink.  This one appears to have a slight silver sheen/tone to it on my complexion but I didn't buff it in so it is just sitting on the surface of my skin.
The Mini lip gloss in Plumtini is .08 oz compared to the regular size in .014 oz.  This is a gorgeous shear pink/purple color and is described as a candied plum.

This kit is a Likey not a Lovey as I am only in love with two items, the eyeliner and the lip gloss and at $34, I'm not sure I would purchase this one.  Okay who are we kidding, I collect these so I would definitely buy this but unless your an addict like me you can leave this one unless you have a lighter complexion, then the colors may not appear as chalky on you.

A Great Foundation is All You Need!

Jun 21, 2010

Yesterday was father's day and I went to visit my daddy!  Of course he was happy to see me but he gave me the look...the I think you have on too much makeup look.  Okay so I had on like five eye shadows but hey I liked it and that is all that matters eh.  I wasn't fond of my eyebrows though as I have been trying to grow them out and am hating every moment of it!

Enough chit chat, now on to today's subject, foundation!  I hate trying to find the right foundation but I have come across some really great ones lately and my skin is happy happy happy.  My latest obsession is the MUFE HD Invisible Cover Foundation I love love love this foundation and it is actually my first liquid foundation ever.  I started out on my MAC Studio Fix which is still in my stash but I use it now to help set my liquid foundations.  I've tried the BE Original Foundation which I couldn't use a lot of because of the ashy tint...that is until they introduced the "golden" line which I liked but I loved the Matte Version of the foundation and used that for quite some time.  I wore the BE Matte Foundation when I went on my trip to Hawaii and I looked great, even after swimming with the dolphins!

After using BE for so long, I wanted to try out a different product and had been hearing a lot of raves on the MUFE HD foundation so I tried it and OMG!  Love Love Love.  The coverage is great, the color selection is awesome and it gives me that airbrushed look.  Who wouldn't love that?  So of course being the makeup junkie that I am, I couldn't stop with a product I love...instead I kept going.  I headed to Sephora and scooped up the NARS Sheer Matte Foundation and I love this one too but I got the wrong color so I mixed it with my MUFE and ommmmggggg.  Perfection!  I thought the MUFE couldn't get any better but hey I was wrong.  The NARS made the foundation super matte which I love and the color was pretty perfect.

Here is a list of the colors that I am using in each foundation:
MAC Studio Fix = NW45

MUFE Invisible Cover = 175

NARS = Trinidad

BE = Golden Dark

So tell me what foundation are you lovelies using?
