Look of the Day 1.25.2012 Snapshot

I've been pretty much stuck in the house since I had the baby, well except for grocery and doctor's office runs, so my husband, the children and I broke out of this place and went to grab a bite to eat.  I wore the boots that my husband just bought me and I LOVE THEM!  I also wore my "push presents" which I will post about at a later date!

On another note, some of your comments haven't been appearing on the site.  I'm trying to fix that but I still get the comments, read them and appreciate them!

The pink has taken over!  After seeing Jennifer from Spiced Beauty's pink lip post I had to stray from the neutral obsession and dive into pink.  I went a little overboard with the lips and eyes but makeup is supposed to be about having fun right?

CoverGirl Lip Perfection Lipstick - Smitten

Since I'm trying to do better with my beauty budget, I've been indulging more in drugstore products.  I'm becoming a bit of a lipstick addict so I had to try some CoverGirl lipsticks.  So far, I'm not impressed.  They aren't horrible but they aren't awesome either.  I find that they are just average so far.  I will try a few more colors to see if my opinion changes but so far I'm not loving them.

Loving my nude lip colors lately and today is no exception.  I found this lipstick at the drugstore and I am absolutely in love with the color but I hate the smell.  The color is so awesome though, I want to buy four or five backups!  <---- True Hoarder!

Sunday Favorites 2012 - Volume 2

I'm finally feeling like myself again and getting into the swing of putting makeup on consistently.  Having a newborn definitely takes some adjusting too especially when you try to find time for yourself and still take care of everything else.

I realized that putting on a little makeup perks me up a bit and therefore, I have simplified my makeup routine to allow me to slap some things on rather quickly.

My go to products for my face have been MAC's Prolongwear Concealer and Bare Escentuals Matte foundation.  When I want to use a liquid foundation, I have been reaching for Lancome's Teint Miracle foundation.

When it comes to shadows, I cannot put down my freakin' Naked2 Palette.  I seriously had to force myself to use something else for my Look of the Day post because all I've been using is this palette.  However, when I did force myself to use another eye shadow, Kat Von D's Prague was amazing and I instantly fell in love.

With my lipstick choices, I have been sticking with pinky nudes or brown nudes and I absolutely adore Bare Escentuals Pretty Amazing Lipcolor in Savvy, Revlon's Lipstick in Mink and Urban Decay's Lip Junky Lip Gloss in Wallflower.

Getting back into the makeup swing of things and trying out some of my recent purchases.  I really wanted to try out my Lancome Teint Miracle foundation.  I purchased the color in Suede 1 and it looks great in person but again, the camera flash washes me out a bit.

This was a super quick look and I think that it came out pretty good.  The Kat Von D Prague eyeshadow is awesome!

Direct Sunlight

This color is described as a brown pink and in direct sunlight you can definitely see the pink coming through.  In indirect sunlight the color looks like a true nude for my skintone.  

Indirect Sunlight

This formula is very easy/comfortable to wear but it can be a bit heavy if you apply too much.  However, since the color is opaque, you don't need very much product.  This product is going directly into my purse and that is were it will live!

Sunday Favorites 2012 - Volume 1

Cheers to the New Year again!  I'm really trying to get my skin and hair together for the new year.  Since I moved to Germany, my skin has been incredibly dry and I've been getting break outs.  I used this cleanser a couple years ago and fell in LOVE with it but once I ran out of it, I started experimenting with other cleansers.  I'm glad that I finally returned to my old faithful cleanser.  I love this cleanser because it exfoliates without being harsh and it leaves my skin feeling clean but not tight.  The moisturizer is really good too because it is thick without feeling greasy and it doesn't irritate the skin around my eyes which is always a plus.  I prefer to use this at night and my Clinique moisturizer in the daytime. 

On a side note:  I'm going to try to get more post up this week on lip products because I have been accumulating quite a few but have yet to feature them on the blog.  Hope you guys are enjoying the blog and if there is anything you would like to see more of, let me know.

I'm on a beauty budget, yikes!  I'm really trying to curb my enthusiasm for hoarding purchasing makeup.  I still love makeup but I really will never use all of my makeup up, ever!  With that being said, I bought more lipgloss which I don't need but hey at least it was only about 7 bucks. These glosses last about 2-3 hours and they are super comfortable to wear.  

The colors I purchased are quite sheer so I want to get more colors to see if there are some opaque color options available.

Sunday Favorites - 2011 Year End
