bareMinerals Ready Eyeshadow 4.0 featuring The Dream Sequence

Feb 28, 2012

Okay so I'm sick of talking about these eye shadows!  Like seriously I want to talk about some of my other goodies that arrived yesterday but I promised to post about all four of these quads so here we go.  Great pigmentation, wears for a long time, no problems with creasing.  I love purple eye shadow so this quad was right up my alley but I just wasn't feeling the look I did today.  I usually like to do a purple smokey eye but I wanted to showcase all of the colors so I did something a little different.

BARE ESCENTUALS READY EYESHADOW 4.0

Loves:  The staying power is great on these shadows.  They swatch easily.  Great pigmentation!
Hates:  Nothing!

Boring eye look isn't it!  Boooo.  But hey I tried.  So that is the last of the quads!  I've posted all the links below if you missed any of them.

Out of all four, my favorite quad has been The Elements!  I think all of the quads are great quality but that one just stood out for me.

Look of the Day 2.25.2012 - The Truth

Feb 25, 2012

Wow some days are really tough.  This has been one of those days.  I'm just extremely tired and it seems like I can never keep up with all of the things that I have to get done in a day but I'm trying.  With that being said, I somehow had time to do another look of the day and I love it!  I didn't like the fact that the colors all had a sheen to them but when I looked at the completed look I absolutely loved the colors.  Also, since it's getting a little warmer I wanted to play with some brighter lip colors.  Hope you like it! Sorry I had to take all the pictures with a flash because it was late in the day and the sun was nowhere in sight.

bareMinerals Ready Eyeshadow 4.0 featuring The Truth

Feb 24, 2012

This is the third bareMinerals Ready Palette that I have tried.  I think this is a good palette but definitely not one that I would do cartwheels over.  I wish that one of the colors had been more matte as it seems they all have a bit of sheen/shimmer to them.  The sheen isn't bad, it is just my personal preference to have a matte shade for depth in the crease or outer v area when I am doing an eye look.  These colors are multidimensional and look very different on my eyes than they look in the pan and even in swatches.  I like this palette very much.

MAC - Shop MAC Collection featuring a Quad and a Blush

Feb 20, 2012

I finally received my shipment of MAC products a couple of days ago.  I hauled the Call Me Bubbles Quad and Optimistic Orange Cream Blush.  I loved the bright spring/summer shades in the Call Me Bubbles Quad.  I picked Optimistic Orange Cream Blush because I love how orange blush looks on my skintone and I wanted to give cream products another try since I usually stay away from them.

MAC SHOP MAC COLLECTION QUAD
Shade:  Call Me Bubbles featuring Call Me Bubbles, Fresh Daily, Full of Flavour, Brash
Available at MAC
$38.00 USD
Loves:  I absolutely love the colors Fresh Daily and Brash.  Call Me Bubbles was a little light on my skintone but I made it work.  Full of Flavour was just okay, nothing special in my opinion.
Hates: Nothing.  I can work with all four colors although I prefer some over others.  I think that the Quad was one of MAC's better ones.

MAC SHOP MAC COLLECTION BLUSH
Shade:  Optimistic Orange
Available at MAC
$20.00 USD
Loves:  The color of course.  I also love how it settles on the skin and looks really nice.  The best part about it is the way it makes my skin look once it is blended in.  Love it!
Hates:  Nothing.

That's all I hauled but I wanted a couple of the lipsticks.  Unfortunately, they sold out too quickly.  Did you get anything from the collection?  Were you lucky enough to get your hands on the lipsticks?  I really wanted Quick Sizzle!

Sunday Favorites 2012 - Volume 4 Hoarders Edition

Feb 19, 2012

This is why I don't leave the house!  I went to the store today for a couple of things and I saw that they restocked a few of my favorite things.  I absolutely love Aussie Hair Insurance and the Moroccan Oil Intense Hydrating Mask.  Since I rarely see these two items in stock, I decided to hoard some.  I purchased 6 Aussie Hair Insurance Sprays and 4 of the Hydrating Masks.  I also decided to try the Moroccanoil Shampoo and Conditioner but I just read the ingredients and I'm a little scared to try them.

I also ordered the Fresh Sugar Body Polish and Soy Cleanser from Beauty.com and they finally arrived.  I absolutely love both products and I can tell a difference in my skin immediately after using them.

Well that's all!  I'm about to go wash my hair now.  :-)

bareMinerals Ready Eyeshadow 4.0 featuring The Elements

Time for the second bareMinerals palette!  This one is a little more my speed.  My favorite shade is the one in the top right corner.  It is a great lid and transition color.  I can also see myself wearing it alone with winged liner for a no fuss look.

I used to think the little brushes that came with these palette were useless but today I cleaned up my shadow and mascara mistakes with it and it worked.

I also forgot to include a picture of the large mirror.  The mirror is definitely a plus as it makes touch ups on the go easy.

BARE ESCENTUALS READY EYESHADOW 4.0
Shade:  The Elements featuring Air, Fire, Earth, Water
Available at Sephora
$30.00 USD
Loves:  The staying power is great on these shadows.  They swatch easily.  Great pigmentation!
Hates:  Nothing*

*These all swatched really easily except for Earth but when I used a brush, I had no problems.  Air was my least favorite shade initially because it didn't feel like it had chunky glitter but it definitely look like it did when I applied it to my eyes.  However, after wearing it for a little bit and taking some pictures, I began to appreciate the look of Air and the glitter eye didn't bother me anymore.

I didn't think that I would like these color as much as I did but they worked well together and I can definitely see myself using this palette a lot.

The next quad I will try is called the Truth.  Until then, stay pretty!

bareMinerals Ready Eyeshadow 4.0 featuring The Afterparty

Feb 16, 2012

Bare Escentuals is known for their loose mineral based products.  Recently they have launched some new products in pressed form to the excitement of people like me who love their products yet hate the mess.  I received all four eyeshadow palettes as gifts during the holidays and I am finally getting a chance to check them out.  So far they are doing great and I'm excited to have them.  They do have Nars like packaging so I can see that these can get dirty but I keep my packaging pretty clean so I shouldn't have a problem there.

BARE ESCENTUALS READY EYESHADOW 4.0

Shade:  The Afterparty featuring Cheers, Mingle, Rowdy, Lights Down
Available at Sephora
$30.00 USD
Loves:  The staying power is great on these shadows.  They swatch easily.  Great pigmentation!
Hates:  These colors aren't my personal favorites as the silvery shades can tend to look a little blue on me but that only bothers me a tiny bit.
I did this eye look in about five minutes and it was really easy.  The shades blended seamlessly and I can only imagine how much better this would look if I actually put some effort into it!

Have you tried these eyeshadows yet?  If so, which are your favorite colors?

MAC - Naturally Collection featuring Lipstick

Feb 14, 2012

I'm late!  I loved the concept of the MAC Naturally collection especially since I've been on a neutral kick lately.  However, once I saw the collection, I didn't really see any products that I had to have.  The only product that looked promising was the Pillow Talk lipstick but I couldn't find swatches of it on someone of my skintone.  I decided to go ahead and purchase the lipstick anyway and I'm not sure whether it was a good buy or not.  I love the color but the formula doesn't last very long on me and it slips to easily around my lip line.

MAC NATURALLY COLLECTION LIPSTICK
Shade:  Pillow Talk
Available at MAC
$14.50 USD
Loves:  The shade is great on my skintone and I can see this working for a lot of other skintones as well.  It is an awesome nude color.
Hates: The formula just doesn't last on me at all and I find myself reapplying too often.  Also, I definitely need lipliner with it as it tends to slip outside of my lip line.

Do you have a favorite nude lip color?  What is the formula like?

MAC - Vera Collection featuring Pearlglide Intense Eye Liners

Feb 6, 2012

Wearing Undercurrent, Lord It Up and MAC's Scan-delicious Kissable Lipcolour
Don't you just love re-promotes!  The good thing about them is they tend to save me money and sometimes I get to grab things that I skipped in the past.  This time the MAC Vera collection re-promoted the Pearlglide Intense Eye Liners.  I have 3 of the colors and so I thought I would include some swatches in case you were curious as to what some of the colors look like.  I included some eye swatches as well so that you can see what they look like in action!

MAC PEARLGLIDE INTENSE EYE LINER
Shades:  Petrol Blue, Undercurrent, Lord It Up
Available at MAC
$15 USD
Loves:  The colors are awesome.  The pencils are really smooth and glide on like a dream.  The shimmer in the colors look great and add an extra something to a look.
Hates:  The pencils can be a little too creamy as I am a bit heavy handed so I break mine a lot which means wasted product for me.
From Top to Bottom:  Petrol Blue, Undercurrent, Lord It Up
From L to R:  Petrol Blue, Undercurrent, Lord it Up
Undercurrent on the Top Lash Line, Lord it Up on the lower lash line (inner tear duct color is Urban Decay Half Baked)
Undercurrent on the Top Lash Line, Lord it Up on the lower lash line (inner tear duct color is Urban Decay Half Baked)
Petrol Blue on the Top and Bottom Lash Lines
I hope this post was helpful.  My favorite color out of the three is definitely Petrol Blue but I love all three colors.  I'm really thinking about getting the rest of the colors soon.
