CHANEL MAT LUMIÉRE Foundation - First Thoughts

Jan 21, 2011

So, I am on the hunt for the perfect foundation even though I love my Make Up For Ever HD Foundation and my Nars Sheer Matte, I still keep searching to see if I can get an even better finish.  Kinda sad really since I love the other two but what kind of makeup hoarder would I be if I didn't keep buying?!  I have heard so much about this foundation from watching youtube and reading beauty blogs that I just had to try it.  My first impression is that this foundation is AMAZING and for $54 it better be!  I've worn it twice this week and it had an incredible finish.  The lasting power hasn't been put to the test yet, but my hubs said that it looked good but a little light on my skin. I bought the Walnut color because that was the darkest color that they had online at Macy's, which is where I purchased this one from.  They have a darker color available at Neiman's but I think that this one will work for me...I think my hubs was focused on the highlight that I did.  So, overall, I think that I love this foundation but I will wait to see if this is long wearing before I make a final verdict!  Oh and random thought, I love the pump action on this one as well.  It comes with a pump that distributes a good amount of product without wasting any.

I Hate Cream Colour Bases

Jan 12, 2011

So, I bought a Cream Colour Base from MAC's Stylishly Yours Collection and can I just say that I'm not impressed at all.  I understand what it is supposed to do, but it just doesn't work for me.  I hauled the Virgin Isle color and the color is gorgeous and it goes on smoothly and gives a nice look to the cheeks...problem is, this look lasts for about 5 minutes on me before you can barely see it and if I build it up too much, I look utterly ridiculous.  The color does look great under Nars' Taj Mahal Blush and Rock & Republic's Immoral Blush but those colors look great on their own as well.  I will continue to try to use this as I almost never send products back but I will not buy another one.  So with that being said, I like the product but it is not an essential to me and I don't really need it or love it so I can't recommend it.

Do any of you like these?  If so, how do you choose to wear them?

Neutral Lips with Givenchy Eyes

So I finally tried my Givenchy Quad that I bought and I added Neutral lips to the look.  I loved the look but my hair was not up to par to do a full shot, so I hope an eye look and lip look will suffice!

Step 7:  Apply Givenchy Shadow (#1 in the picture) to the crease and lower lash line
Step 8:  Blend, blend, blend
Step 9:  Line Upper and Lower Lash Line with MAC Smolder Eye Kohl

Who Needs Roses When You Have Lipstick?

Jan 4, 2011

Loving loving red lipstick and I have been wearing it almost every day, which is funny since most days I'm just hanging in my house.  My son says I look pretty though so that's all that matters.  Red lipstick makes me feel ultra cute on those not so cute days and lifts my spirit when I have no motivation to get prettified.  Oh and the hubs approves too.

Step 1:  Line and Fill in Lips with Brick Lipliner (MAC)
Step 2:  Line Outer Corner of Lips and Fill in the Corners Only with Currant Lipliner (MAC)
Step 3:  Apply #43 Moulin Rouge Lipstick to Lips Straight from Tube.  No Lip Brush Required (Make Up For Ever)
Step 4:  Be a Sexy Beast

So tell me what your favorite red lip combo is.  I would love to hear it.  Oh and if you wear a different color to pep your spirits, let me know that too!

Until next time, Stay Pretty Spectacular~

Just Call Me Pinky!

Jan 3, 2011

I hope you all had an outstanding New Years!  I spent our little holiday staycation with my husband and my son and it was the best time ever.  I'm starting this week off with a lip look.  I did get the coveted Pink Friday Lipstick from MAC's collaboration with Nicki Minaj.  I thought it would just go in the stash as a collectors thing but I am not for the wasting money this year so I actually wore it.  Of course you have probably seen the bright crazy color pink it is and I'm not that bold to wear it alone...I wanna keep my husband and not scare my baby THANKS!HA!  So I toned the look down by pairing it with Currant Lip Liner and topping it off with Fabulous Fun Dazzleglass.

Step 1:  Line Lips with Currant
Step 2:  Fill in Lips with Pink Friday
Step 3:  Apply Fabulous Fun
Step 4:  Be Fierce

Love ya and bye for now.  Until next time Stay Strong and Bold~

Let me know if you have this lipstick and what pairings you have come up with or are you bold enough to rock this solo?!
