Organizing my Makeup Step 1

May 30, 2010

Hi Loves,

I've been on this organization journey for quite a while and every time I think that I have everything the way I want it, I buy more makeup and then I get into the re-organization mode.  I have decided now to start with my everyday makeup, brushes and my eye shadows.  Let's start with the Everyday Makeup.  So, I bought this container from Office Depot.  It was seriously on sale for like $3 when my husband and I went into the store one random day and it was the last one left.  It is online now for $29.99.  It has six drawers and I have filled all six to capacity, it also has this top part that is sectioned off and perfect for me to put my go-to items.   I also labeled the container with stickers that I found at Walmart

The next item that I bought was originally for my wedding and was collecting dust before I had the brilliant idea of utilizing it for my makeup brushes.  I found the Vase at Michael's and filled it with marbles that I also found there.

The best find so far is the storage containers that I found for my BE and MAC eyeshadows.  I don't have any other brand eyeshadows that aren't in palettes but I will buy some and see if they fit!  Perfect excuse to go to Sephora.  Anyhoo, I found the containers at Joann's and after placing the little containers that come inside of it to the side, it fits 24 eyeshadows perfectly and because it is completely see through I can see exactly what I am looking for!  So now, I've spent the last few hours trying to organize my shadows by color....ugggh.  Check out some of my green's!  Oh and fyi they are on sale now for $5.99, regular price is $9.99.

I will post an update when my re-organization is complete.   I have decided to re-organize my hair products as well because apparently I haven't driven myself completely crazy yet.

Sephora Haul Products! Review 4 Dior Addict Ultra Gloss Little Red Dress

Hi Loves,

I've always been a neutral lip kinda girl but I always wanted to break out the Red lips just because it always looks so chic.  I have not yet had an occasion to try a matte red lip as it just makes me nervous that I will end up looking like a teenage prostitute trying to be a grown-up!  Yeah...the things that go on in my head.  Okay, so I'm at Sephora swatching my little heart out in search of that red that has the right amount of shine and color....and then tada against my better judgement I tried the Dior Ultra Gloss.  Now I have nothing against Dior but this lipgloss is currently retailing at Sephora for $26.50 and I was afraid that if I tried it and liked it, I would be almost $30 poorer.  I was right!  I tried it on my hand and it was love at first swatch.  OMG (yeah this is an OMG moment) I had a glossgasm.  I threw this in my little Sephora bag and that was that.  The thing I love most about the gloss is that a little goes a long way and I can layer it on for the intensity or I can put on a dab and have a rosy lip look.  I am obsessed with this gloss and have gone from wearing very dramatic eyes to wearing neutrals just so that my gloss can be the focal point.  This gloss is a MUST BUY if you can part with the dinero.   Oh and for my packaging junkies, this is super cute.

FINAL VERDICT:  LOVE IT!  Caution:  Be careful of putting too much on as it may get on your teeth.  Do the finger O exercise to prevent.

Look of the Day!

May 28, 2010

Hi Loves,

So in my last two posts I talked about the Urban Decay Summer of Love Pallete and the MUFE eyebrow corrector 4.  So, since I have been reviewing these products I feel that it is only right if I show myself wearing them...riiiiiightttt.  Here it is.  Oh and I am on the very best cold medicine ever so please excuse the drowsy look.

Leave a comment below if you would like me to do a step by step instructional for the look or if you have any questions.

Sephora Haul Products! Review 3 MUFE Waterproof Eyebrow Corrector 4

Hi Loves,

I am feeling a little better today and in the mood to review.  Let me tell you that this product is a must buy for eyebrow junkies like myself.  I love the color and the fact that I can layer it on lightly at first and build the color.  I also love the fact that a little goes a long way.  Now with that being said.....this product is NOT waterproof and will smudge.  I tried to rub it lightly after it dried and it definitely smudged.  I am thinking that maybe I need to put some powder over it to try to set it....hopefully that will help.  Oh and just an fyi, I used the MAC 266 brush to apply this to my brows.  I love that brush....I should probably purchase another one since I use this one for my eyeliner too.  Hmmmm.  Anyway, I will definitely purchase this again, if I ever run out!

FINAL VERDICT:  Me likey a LOT!  Caution:  This is not waterproof in my opinion but worth the $19 anyway because of the color and ease of application.

Sephora Haul Products! Review 2 Urban Decay Summer of Love

May 27, 2010

Hi Loves,

So I'm back and sicker than ever...boooo.  My makeup however looks fantastic thanks to the Summer of Love set by Urban Decay.  Let me first start off by saying that I LOVE the colors in this collection.  They have fantastic pigment and stayed all day long.

I've worn all of the colors and my favorite is definitely the purple.  However, I will probably wear the other colors more often because they are great neutral summer colors that have that extra pop that keeps them from being a snooze fest on my face.  So with that being said the only downfall would be the fall-out that happened all over my face.  I hate that there was shimmer everywhere but I think that this is partly my fault as I should have tapped a little more before applying.  But seriously, I could not get the glitterazzi off of my face.  I wiped with a baby wipe, I put concealer and foundation and still I saw the glitter...so next time I will be more precise with my application and hopefully I will have minimal fallout.

The kit comes with the following colors:

Flash:  Awesomely bright purple
Maui Wowie:  Sandy Beach
Chopper:  Shimmer Crazy Bronzy
Smog:  Darker Copper Bronzy
Primer Potion:  Sin - Champagne Bubbly
24-7 Eye Pencil:  Bourbon: Best Dark Bronze/Brown EVER....well maybe not ever but it is really good!

FINAL VERDICT:  LOVES and would purchase again!  Caution Required for the fall-out. $29 well spent!

Sephora Haul Products! Review 1 Nars Temptation Gift Set

May 26, 2010

Hi Loves,

I'm back.  Today was sucky.  I woke up feeling like crap and now my throat is so sore and bleh bleh bleh.  So anywho, no little sickness can keep me from mi bloggie.  Oh but before I get started I would just like to give an epic fail badge to my UPS driver who decided to bring my QVC haul to the door 5 minutes AFTER my husband arrived home from work....bleh.  Good thing my husband doesn't get too mad at me for my makeup splurges.  Okay so back to the subject.  I LOVE the Orgasm Nail Polish.  It is perfect for the spring/summer season and really anytime you want a nice, clean and fun looking manicure.  It is a really pretty peach/pink with gold flecks in it and I just adore it.  The other nice thing is that 1 coat dried in less than 3 minutes for me so that was a plus because with a two year old running around, I don't have time to stand around waiting for polish to dry.

Okay so now to the blush.  I want to love it but I just like it.  It has a lot of shimmer and my husband complimented me by saying I like the glitter you put on  your face today....ummmm not so sure that is a good thing.  So besides that the color is nice but doesn't show up to much on my skin tone in pictures but in person it is pretty.

I totally would not purchase this color again but I am glad I have it in my collection just in case I get into a shimmer mood.  So over all.  I can't completely recommend this collection but if you have an extra $30 lying around and want something fun...get it!  Otherwise save your money and get something that you will LOVE.

Final Verdict:  ME LIKEY NOT LOVEY

Sephora Haul!

May 25, 2010

Hi Loves,

I always go to the salon every two weeks and get my hair done. I am currently going to Another Look in Elk Grove, CA and I love the way Je vonne does my hair!  Check for her if your ever in the area.

Any hoo, after my hair appointment, I decided to go to Sephora and do some damage. My excuse to go was to pick up some conditioner for my granny's hair that I told her I would bring to her later this week. So of course even though that was my excuse, I had a list of products on hand for myself.

I intended to get the new Too Faced Naked Eye Soft and Sexy Eyeshadow collection, the Natural Eye Neutral Eye Shadow Collection also from Too Faced, the Urban Decay Summer of Love Eyeshadow Palette , the Dior Ultra Gloss and the MUFE Beauty in a Box - Aqua Essentials Kit.

So they totally pissed me off a little by not having the Naked Eye or the Beauty in a Box in store yet...especially since I was equipped with my VIB 10% off coupon but they redeemed themselves by being able to scan the coupon off of my crackberry!

So here is a list of what I actually got!

  1. Nars Temptation Gift Set
  2. Urban Decay Summer of Love Palette
  3. Carol's Daughter Black Vanilla Leave-In Conditioner
  4. Too Faced Mini Lash Injection
  5. MUFE Eyebrow Corrector 4
  6. Dior Addict Ultra Gloss 856 Little Red Dress
  7. Too Faced Natural Eye, Neutral Eye Shadow Collection
  8. Beauty Insider 500 Point Perk: Korres Beauty Must-Haves
I will do reviews this week on every product and include swatches and pictures but until then....gotta go!
